Making a commitment. Changing lives.
Stop. Make a Change is the only nationwide campaign of its kind in UK construction, in which companies temporarily cease work to participate in sessions aimed at improving the health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone working in the sector.
On 18 April 2017, organisations from across the UK infrastructure sector took part in the first Stop. Make a Change. Sites, offices and production facilities downed tools to focus on working together to build a healthier, safer industry. More than 60 companies across 1,000 sites and more than 60,000 employees took part. |
In 2018 Stop. Make a Change expanded to cover the whole of the UK construction industry. Running for two weeks, from 16 to 27 April 2018 it saw more than 100 companies and 100,000 employees take part.
In 2019, Stop. Make a Change reached as many as 200,000 people working in UK construction. In 2020, 2021, & 2022 the campaign undertook to address a wide range of issues, not least the impact of COVID-19. This year, Stop Make a Change will take place between 9 - 20 October 2023. We are asking everyone working in UK construction, infrastructure, and the built environment to engage in conversations using our 'Conversation Starter' packs with the aim of improving health, safety and wellbeing across the workforce. |
